Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore proposes that every
accredited institution should establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a postaccreditation quality sustenance measure. In pursuance of NAAC guidelines for the creation of
IQAC, we at Changu Kana Thakur Arts, Commerce and Science College, New Panvel
(Autonomous) has established Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on June 30, 2006
to ensure quality culture as the prime concern for the institution through institutionalizing and
internalizing all the initiative taken with internal and external support. The prime task of the
IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent & catalytic improvement in the overall
performance of institutions. IQAC channelizes all efforts & measures of the institution towards
promoting its holistic academic excellence. The IQAC has to ensure that whatever measures
undertaken by the institution for quality enhancement of education should be done efficiently
and effectively with high standards. The IQAC establishes procedures and modalities to collect
data and information on various aspects of institutional functioning. The success of IQAC
depends upon the sense of belongingness and participation in all the constituents of the institute.
IQAC is a dynamic and participative system of the institution and has potential to remove
deficiencies and enhance quality culture in the institution.
IQAC is constituted under the Chairmanship of the Head of the Institution with heads of
important academic and administrative units and a few teachers and a few distinguished
educationists and representatives of local management and stakeholders.
The composition of the IQAC may be as follows:
-
Chairperson: Head of the Institution

-

-
One/two nominees from local society, Students and Alumni
-
One/two nominees from Employers /Industrialists/stakeholders
